I had a really great weekend... a much needed break from the every-day grind! I went out to Mesa to have some fun at CKC. I got to see Liz again, which was really great. She is such a beautiful person in and out (not to mention, super talented!). I took a few of her classes and had some retail therapy!

(btw, Liz, I hope you are enjoying your new tape runner. You will become addicted to it!)

We took a little break from the ckc madness, and headed to downtown Mesa for a little shopping. We stopped at Blissful Living Studio and Blossom Salon & Boutique. Wow, Blissful Living was adorable. It was literally a store right up Liz's alley :) I bought the cutest strawberry note pad there... I will definitely be going back! Blossom was also a cute lil salon! They had small chandeliers hanging above every stylists' station. So cute! Too bad neither one of us had our cameras... what kind of scrapbookers are we? lol.

The only things that could have made our day better: more time and ice cream!

Liz, so glad we got to hang out some more. It was a wonderful day! Hope to see you again soon.

Tomorrow I finally have a day off work! I will be visiting the academic advisor at school, working on homework, and taking a much needed shopping trip. I am most looking forward to going to Forever 21, after seeing all the cute stuff my lil sis just got there!

I have been sort of a slacker lately, at least with Project 365. Taking a picture a day has been a struggle for me! I am going to really try this month to get back on target. Between a new job, a part time job, school, and house hunting, my camera has taken a back seat!

The picture above is what the floor in my bedroom looks like on Sundays... I have this wacky process during the week of trying to find outfits in the morning in the dark while Jon is sleeping. I will try on 4 or 5 different things and throw whatever I don't want on my side of the bed. Jon is border-line OCD, so he cannot stand this mess! Maybe this is because our furniture takes up ALL the space in our room? Or because we have sliding-door closets instead of a walk-in? These are a few of the issues that I hope are resolved soon when we get a house :) Speaking of, we put in another offer last week, so we hope to hear soon! It is a short sale home, so we may not know for months....

I am excited that I have one more week of school until spring break. Jon and I will be going to Las Vegas for a few days, which will be relaxing! This week, Bre and I are going to 2 Chicago Cubs spring training games. We are very excited!

So, today was one of those days at work... a frustrating day! I was glad to spend some time after work with Carri and have some martinis! :0) And then I found out I won Jana's giveway! Sooooo happy about that one!

Jon and I are still attempting to find a house! We found a neighborhood we really like, so now it's just putting in some offers! :)

I have no idea why I am so addicted to the Bachelor, but I am. I sit and yell at the tv on Monday nights when the girl I like gets sent home. Now we're down to 2 and I can't decide who I like more... Melissa or Molly? Tonight's show is the "tell all" show which should be entertaining! :)

We are still on the house hunt... we are in pretty much a bidding war right now over a certain house, but are confident that God has a special plan for us, whether it is THIS house or another :)

Jon and I are currently under the weather. There is some nasty virus going around Phoenix! I haven't had much energy at all.... bummer!

well, we didn't get the house...but we're not bummed! Apparently 16 other people thought the same thing we did about that house, and a bidding war started! That being said, we are still on the look out for a new casa. We have found a few really good options in Peoria, so maybe tomorrow will be the day :)

(my birthday flowers 2/4)

This month is flyin' by so fast! Last week I turned 23, which has been one of the best birthdays yet. Jon showered me with gifts for my 'birthday week,' which he has never done before. On day one, I got my car washed, waxed, and cleaned inside. Day two was flowers, and day 3 was the next book I am reading in the Twilight series. On my actual birthday (the 5th), Jon and I had the best dinner we've ever had.... at Ruth's Chris! I am not a steak person, but since it was my birthday, I said what the heck.... so, I ordered a filet, salad, garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus, and washed it all down with a few glasses of chardonnay. Then, the best part... a free dessert! LOL. Our waiter brought me creme brulee, which again, isn't something I would normally order, but it was the best dessert I have ever had! We will totally go back there again... it WAS worth the money! We are still hunting for a house.... it has been and up and down event, but we know that it will all come in the right time. We put in an offer on a house today.... so we are praying for that! :) I still don't have a scrap room, but that should be solved once we get a new place!

So, I haven't exactly taken pics EVERY day for Project 365... I am juggling a lot right now, so I am happy to remember to get my camera out when I do :) Here are some recent pics:

If you haven't read this book, I highly recommend it! (especially if you are a person who likes to set goals!) You can find the book here. Jon is also reading it!

This book talks all about what you can/could do in the next 5 years... it made me think A LOT about how I choose to spend my time!

Here are some things I would like to do in the next 5 years:

*Take a 2 week long trip to Europe

*Buy a house

*Exercise on a CONSISTENT basis :)

*Pay off debt*Have a baby {or 2.... :0)}

*Scrapbook family history

*Graduate college from ASU

*Teach for at least one year

*Go to Hawaii

*Work only one job :)

On another note, this week has been crazy! I hope to update my Project 365 pictures, although lately, I am lucky if I even remeber to take the pictures! I started my new job on Tuesday- I am working in downtown Phoenix for a criminal lawyer, and I really enjoy that! We are still in the process of trying to buy a house, I am still going to school, and yes, I am still working at Old Navy. I don't have a spare moment of free time lately... and Bre's clothes have taken over my scrapbook room, so no luck there either :) It's just a busy time, but I don't know how to live any other way!

Project 365:
This has been all the buzz so far in 2009... drama with the kits and all. I was one of the unfortunate ones who didn't get a kit b/c they were sold out, but I am still continuing with the picture-a-day idea...frankly b/c my photography skills stink! This year, I am planning to purchase an SLR digi camera, so I want to get better at taking pictures! Here I am with the first 5 days! (Day one pictured above)

Here is a new LO...

I just recently watched Lisa Bearnson on QVC. I got suckered into buying a few goodies! Here they are: 160 pieces of Wausau Cardstock (it is awesome!) & The Ripe Berry Collection (so fun & funky!)

So, it's a new year. I have one major resolution (besides more exercise, less spending $$, & even better eating habits): to tithe to my church the full 10% of my income... all the time. That's going to be a tough one for me, but I know it's the right thing to do!

Here is the play-by-play of my perfect day:

*running a few errands with my hubby (bank, Michael's, etc.)
*stopping at Starbucks for some green teas
*going to Hobby Lobby and Joann's to hit up the sales and spend some Christmas moo-lah. (yes, Jon did go)
-I bought a ton of alpha stickers! :) In Michigan, Hobby Lobby was right up the street from me, but here in AZ, I have to drive a good 40 minutes to get there. So today was a real treat!

*Making a stop at Chili's for a yummy meal
*And ending the trip with a stop at Borders books.

What a perfect day.... nothing to do, no work, and spending time with my love. :)

So, I am in MI right now, taking care of a few things. The wedding is in 45 SHORT days & there is still a lot to do.... but all little things! No scrapping for the next few months- I will be working on wedding things & spending time with my family and friends!

He is one of the owners of the Orange County team, and was at the game, so I built up the guts to ask him for a picture (after 3 margaritas!) I used to watch the show religiously, so I was pretty excited to meet him! He is even as good looking in real life as he is on tv....but don't worry, Jon, no one is better looking than you!

I have to admit, there is nothing more exciting than my mom calling me each day to tell me whose wedding RSVPs she has received. I can't believe we are only 70 days away. That is crazy!

On a scrapbooking note, I have been doing a lot of organizing lately. I have such a small space now to hold all my "stuff" so I have been condensing. I just dream of the day when I have a HUGE room to devote to my crafting (honey, hurry up and make it to the big leagues!). With that said, I used to keep all of my magazines, and doggie-ear the pages that I liked. BAD IDEA! So, in the past few weeks I have been going through ALL my magazines and ripping out the pages that I want to save. I bought a huge 3 ring binder & 8.5x11 page protectors from Office Max and am putting all my favorite in there, organized by how many pictures the LO can hold. I am not even close to being done, but it feels good to get rid of clutter! I devoured the new CK & Simple Scrabooks mags this month. They just seemed so much better this month than they have recently! I just love Elizabeth Kartchner's LO on page 105 titled "This Little Piggy." I can't wait to make a page with diamonds on it like hers....so inspiring! But I am super bummed that Stacy Julian is leaving Simple Scrapbooks...

Tomorrow is a busy day... I have to pack for California. Yes, I was just there 2 weeks ago, but I am going back b/c Jon will be there playing again! I do have quite the life... PLUS laundry, dishes, and hopefully some scrapping! :)

I survived an earthquake

This trip to Cali has been interesting...yesterday we experienced an earthquake in LA! We were on the 4th floor of our hotel when the quake hit, and the building began to shake and sway... a lot! Luckily, it didn't last long, but I refused to use the elevator for the rest of the day, as I was afraid another quake would come! '

100 days away...

So, my lap top has crashed... BOO! Luckily, good ol' Best Buy is repairing it for FREE b/c it's covered under my service plan! I won't have it back for about 10 days though, so I am using the public computer at the library. UGH! Therefore, I can't upload any pictures! And boy, do I have lots of LOs to post?!?!?!?!

CE Preview day was a blast! For those of you who are going, you won't be disappointed :0) But more on that later when I can upload pics!

The wedding is less than 4 months away (as of yesterday!) which totally rocks! Jon and I have been talking about our excitement every day...& the anticipation of seeing eachother for the first time on the wedding day. We couldn't be more thrilled...

I am heading up to Calgary to visit Jon for about 12 days. Then, I head to LA for 4th of July weekend to watch him play some more. This 2 week vacay is going to be soooo relaxing! :) We have some awesome things planned for the trip & will also be celebrating our 4 year dating anniversary! 4 YEARS...I still can't believe it! We are so truly blessed! :)

This past weekend was pretty exciting! Friday morning, I drive over to Yuma, AZ to see Jon play! It was so awesome to spend time with my other half since we have been apart for over a month. We had a nice lunch at Applebee's & then I enjoyed 3 days of baseball. The team won 2 of 3, and Jon got to pitch in two games. He did very well! Hopefully I will get to see him again soon! :)

I was so glad to go home to Michigan last wEEk and visit family & friends. Here is a pic of me, Tera, Betsy, and ShaNNon on the night we aLL got to go out together.

I also got a lot aCComplished for the weDDing. I had a dreSS fiTTing, picked out my awesome flowers, designed my cake, and picked out my weDDing bands! Here is a pic of my bands for my ring...they are awesome. Thanks, Jamie! (the bands are white gold, not gold!)

And here's my JoNNy! He is now in Canada playing for the suMMer. This pic was taken on our last night together. He was reading in bed, and I had to snap a picture of him! Isn't he so cute? xoxoxo I miSS you babe!

In Detroit while working at the Mega MEEt scrapbOOk convention, I had the awesome pleasure of mEEting and siTTing in on a presentation by Stacy Julian. Wow! She is totaLLy inspiring! She has some reaLLy great ideas, not only about this awesome hoBBy, but about life in general.
And here are my adorable nieces on the afternOOn I got to spend time with them!
This is Betsy's lil boy, Nolan, who is going to be the ring bearer in our weDDing. Such a cutie pie!
aLL in aLL, it has bEEn a busy few wEEks. I wiLL be done working at the law firm on June 5th, and we are moving again on June 1st. I thought I'd had tome to relax this suMMer, but it's not lOOking like it! LOL! Hope you aLL had a great wEEkend! :)

I have bEEN dying to use my new Scarlet Lime kit! As a 1st month subscriber, I wasn't reaLLy sure where to start! Here are a few samples of what I played with today...my camera totaLLy sucks, by the way. I am just noticing how duLL my colors lOOk and how some of the pics are bluRRy. SoRRy 'bout that! [Maybe I should take a photography claSS!]

Here is a reaLLy simple birthday card I made using some scraps of paper, and the totaLLy cOOl new roLLer dOOdles (number stamps) by Glitz.
This page was done using the Scarlet Lime main kit. Loooved the colors.
I am in {love} with cardstock flowers by BaZZiLL. Soooooo functional!
more using the main kit.....the K & Co Urban Rhapsody rub-ons are so trendy & fun!
I reaLLy enjoyed the unique embeLLishments in this kit. For example, the cOOl fabric circle with a rhinestone in the miDDle.

Mesa CKC was a blast. Saturday rocked... I aCComplished what I wanted to...

I got to chat it up with Becky Higgins who was wonderful....and I got her to sign my copy of her bOOk of sketches! She is sooooo down to earth! If you get the chance to mEEt her, do so!

I also got to mEEt Elizabeth Kartchner...wow...She is sooooo swEEt! She is CK's scrapbOOker of the Year. I was thriLLed when she came into our bOOth, and I just had to say hi (even though I debated on doing so b/c I didn't want to inteRRupt her shoPPing!). I am so glad I said hi though b/c she is great! I am a frequent visitor to her blog for inspiration! She is so cute and again, if you get to mEEt this awesome woman, do!!!!!

So, it's THAT time. Time for us to STOP living our "buying-whatever-we-want" lifestyle, and START saving for a house. We are going to start watching what we spend, b/c honestly, we haven't had to before. We're going to cut back on eating out because that is probably our #1 indulgence. Then, it's cutting back on scrapbooking, electronics, and so forth. We are going to WIN the battle of DEBT! We don't want ANY debt EVER!!!!!!!!! We just started doing Dave Ramsey's "Total Money Makeover" to help us save, and IT WORKS. Go check it out, & do yourself a favor! I can't wait to tackle this challenge....It's going to be hard, but totally worth it in the end b/c we're going to own our first house! YEAH!!!! http://www.daveramsey.com

I actuaLLy had a great wEEkend...usuaLLy I am preTTY bored when Jon isn't home! (He's in FL for 11 days playing basebaLL).

*Friday I got ouTTa work early for GOOD Friday and headed to Target to shop the clearance racks, and to lOOk for the new Fiskars punch. WeLL, I didn't find the new punch, but I bought lots of great stuFF dirt cheap!

*Saturday, us girls aTTempted to go to the Giants spring training game, but it was sold out :( Instead, we went & had a few drinks in Old Town ScoTTsdale...very relaxing! I am starting to fEEl like I "belong" here.....ahhhh

*Today, I went to church with Aleysha & her huBBy, & AAron and I went for an Easter lunch at Lonestar. Hey, at least we didn't have to cOOk. And I got a lil scraPPin' done. But now it's homework time.....blah.

One of Jon and I's favorite things to do is go to the grocery store! Wierd, I know, but we love to shop for fOOd! He is constantly picking up everything I throw into the cart and reading the nutrition label to make sure it's healthy. We were trying to find some bars I could snack on in the afternOOns, but were having trouble finding one that we considered "healthy." We stumbled upon MOJO bars and they are so yuMMy! This one (peanut buTTer pretzel) is to die for...the perfect combo of salty & swEEt. GoTTa try em....for you AZ people, Fry's has them on sale 10 for $10 right now!!!!!!

My mom, 2 sisters, and one of my nieces (Makena) got to come out and visit us a few weeks ago. We traveled to Sedona, the Grand Canyon, and hit up a Chicago Cubs Spring Training game. We had a blast together!

Yea, it's bEEn a hot second since I've bloGGed. I have bEEN a busy girl. Anywho, here are a few journals I made this wEEkend out of composition bOOks. {it's my new favorite thing}

This wEEKend I didn't have anything on my schedule....for once! It was super nice to slEEp in, do laundry, clean, & run eRRands at my own pace. I even made it to the Farmer's Market with JoNNy on Saturday morning.

Saturday night JoNNy and I aTTended Christ Church of the VaLLey in Glendale. We loved it! We wiLL defintely be going back. I am even geTTing involved in their chEErleading program by helping out some coaches. WHat a great coMMunity to be a part of!

My mom, my 2 sisters, and one of my nieces are coming to visit this Friday! Can't wait to show them around Phoenix!

Hey everyone~

This week I had an "enlightenment" in my life. Ashley passed this email along, which justifies EVERYTHING that has gone on in the past week. Everyone remeber that God doesn't put you through anything that you can't handle. Sometimes he just puts you through the rough times to bring you closer to people who you were never close to at all. Be sure to pay close attention to #14, #30, and #31. And also keep this Bible verse close to your heart: "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much and whoever can be dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much." Luke 16:10. If someone comes to you and tells you something in confidence, make sure you obey that confidence, and keep your mouth quiet! If not, even the best things can be destroyed.

Have a *wonderful* weekend.

CHRISTIAN WAYS TO REDUCE STRESS ...

An Angel says, "Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice."
1. Pray
2. Go to bed on time.
3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.
5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)
8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.
9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.
10. Take one day at a time.
11. Separate worries from concerns . If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety . If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.
12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.
13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.
14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.
16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.
17. Get enough rest.
18. Eat right.
19 Get organized so everything has its place.
20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.
21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.
22. Every day, find time to be alone.
23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.
24. Make friends with Godly people.
25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good "Thank you Jesus."
27. Laugh.
28. Laugh some more!
29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.
30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).
31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).
32. Sit on your ego.
33 Talk less; listen more.
34. Slow down.
35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.
36 . Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before. GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU.

WeLL, tt was last Thursday. I was going to the morning claSS, but since I am miSS fuLL time work-a-holic, I am now a night girl. We made some reaLLy *cute* LOs, so hope I get time to post them on here tonight after work. Heidi & I discovered that our birthdays are a day apart...plus we have a lot of other things in coMMon, not to metion, *blonde* hair! Maybe twins separated at birth? Hmmmm :)

Tomorrow the real fun begins...schOOl! My first claSS is at 7am! Whew! Then I go to work after that. (plus night claSSes Tue & Wed) I hope I still have the energy to scrapbook @ night! Last week I played around every night after work & was on a roLL, so hopefuLLY that kEEps going! It's such a streSS reliever! I finished aLL my cards for swaps, so my next project I am working on is for the *Glitz* Design Team CaLL. I will post pics as sOOn as I am done!

I am oFF to work at Starbucks. Have a great SundaY!

Forgot to mention that a few other things happend when Jonny and I went home for Christmas:

#1: I bought a weDDing dreSS! However, for aLL you curious people, you can't sEE b/c Mr. Nosy Pants always checks my blog...& you know the grOOm can't see his bride's dreSS b4 the weDDing! I must admit though, it rocks.

Yup, it took us 40 HOURS to get to Michigan...
Nala and Zeus didn't mind- they just slept a lot!

We are so very glad to be home and sleeping in our own bed! My mom and step dad ended up liking Zeus so much that they kept him in MI! We miss him already...

Christmas Fever

Christmas has now come and gone...just like that. Now it's time to go back to work and prepare for the new year, which will include: a fuLL time joB, a fuLL time schOOl schedule, and a weDDing! Very *exciting*

Here are the lil' goodies I made to give away at Christmas...just an XL Hershey's bar I covered in pp, added a label to, and put a ribbon on. Turned out cute and pretty darm cheap! I had been bugging Jonny to take me to see Christmas lights, and he finaLLy did. We got some coffee, and went to Glendale Glitters in downtown Glendale, AZ. We had fun just walking around and enjoying the MOMENT.

It was a romantic evening!

Shelby & I....btw, if you don't know Shelby, she owns embellish IT! A wonderful online store where you can buy all the Basic Grey you want! She is a *very* talented scrapbooker, too. She teaches at a lot of the big scrapbook conventions, so look her up. You will NOT be disappointed! I met her at the Mega MEEt in Novi, MI about 3 years ago while taking one of her classes (and have taken them every year since!) We then ran into each other again at CE and I have worked for her a few times since then. I am trying to get her to hire me fuLL time....wink wink. TO sum it all up, she is my creative inspiration!

I was going through some old pics from last years' holiday, and found these 2 that I had forgotten about. I love the look of Christmas lights in pictures... Jon is taking me to drive around and look at lights tonight!

So I am sitting here at Glendale Community College waiting to talk to an academic advisor. (It's already been 2 hours!) I have decided to change my major to business, so I have a lot to go back and re-do, after 3 years of completed college under my belt! I should be graduating this year! Anywho, I am very excited to get back into the swing of things and graduate!

O Christmas Tree

I really enjoy decorating for Christmas, but have never got to do it in a house of my own...until NOW! Jon and I had a great time putting all the ornaments on our 1st Christmas Tree together!
Here is the small 4 foot tree in our bedroom...it's decorated in all baseball ornaments. This is our big tree in the living room...decorated in all shades of blues and greens!

The doggies are growing faster than ever! We are temporarily watching over another dog until we find a home for him. His name is Heiser, and he's a lab/pitbull mix. Nala and Zeus love playing around with him! Jon is keeping really busy taking care of all the dogs! They all cuddle when they sleep!

we are FiNaLLy moving next Saturday! We got a house in Glendale and are *super* excited to get out of this condo! Although it's a little further from work than I want to be, the 3,000 square feet & pool & hot tub will be worth it ;) Plus, I have my own scrapping room! I will post pics as soon as I can. Just so you all know, Jon told me yesterday that he is coming home early from Mexico! Of course, I am thrilled, but sad for him that this opportunity didn't work out so well....not getting paid, a dangerous city, and not too hot living conditions. Thanks for your prayers in this matter! Hope he will be home next week Monday or Tuesday.

for those of you who know me really well, you know my fiance Jon is a baseball player. Currently, he is down in Mexico playing until mid December. However, there have been some problems there, and he (plus the rest of his teammates) have not gotten paid in over a month!
